Purpose-built for the part of your AR-15 everyone forgets. The Forsaken Industries Wool Star Chamber Cleaning Pads with Brass Rod Adapter remove carbon and fouling from the star chamber, the most neglected maintenance point on your rifle.
These compressed wool pads expand to contact the entire chamber surface, scrubbing it clean while protecting your bore. Paired with the included brass rod adapter, this system delivers a tight, reliable fit that pulls grime out instead of pushing it deeper.

What Is the Star Chamber?
The star chamber is the ring of locking lug recesses in the barrel extension of an AR-15, where the bolt lugs lock into place. It gets its name from its star shape. Carbon builds up in these recesses with every shot, and a normal patch or bore brush cannot reach them. Over time, that buildup can make the bolt harder to lock and contribute to malfunctions.
How to Clean an AR-15 Star Chamber
- Unload the rifle, remove the magazine and confirm the chamber is empty.
- Separate the upper and lower, and remove the bolt carrier group and charging handle.
- Thread the brass adapter onto your cleaning rod and press a wool pad onto the adapter.
- Wet the pad with carbon cleaner or CLP.
- Insert the rod through the back of the upper receiver into the star chamber and twist several full turns.
- Pull the pad out, check it, and repeat with a fresh pad until it comes out clean.
- Finish with a dry pad to remove leftover solvent.

FAQ
Will the adapter fit my cleaning rod?
The adapter has an 8-32 thread, the standard thread used on most rifle cleaning rods, including the rods in our Universal Gun Cleaning Kit.
How often should I clean the star chamber?
Every time you do a full cleaning of your AR-15, and always after high round counts or suppressed shooting.
Can I reuse the pads?
Use a fresh pad once one is saturated with carbon. With 100 pads in a pack, you will have plenty.
Should I use CLP or carbon cleaner?
Use carbon cleaner for heavy buildup and CLP for routine cleaning. Either way, finish with a dry pad.
